The big day has finally arrived: the famous Bourg-le-Bouquet Most Beautiful Plant Contest! You are among the village’s finest gardeners. Fill up your watering cans, sharpen your pruning shears, and get ready for some serious gardening fun!
But Pique Pousse is not just about managing your own garden. The game is packed with mischief and player interaction: stealing cards, swapping pots, rearranging plants, and setting traps can all be used to slow down your rivals at just the right moment. Aphids, the true scourge of any garden, add constant pressure and force you to keep a close eye on your plant’s development turn after turn.
In Pique Pousse, your objective is simple: grow your plant and obtain three flowers matching the symbol shown on your pot. But with unpredictable weather and underhanded moves from your opponents, achieving this goal is anything but easy.
Each turn begins with rolling the weather die, which directly affects your plants’ growth: sunshine lets you draw cards, rain helps you heal, drought can be devastating, and the dreaded aphids may appear. Then, you play Action cards to water, prune, fertilize, or disrupt other players’ gardens. The game’s core mechanic revolves around the spatial development of your plant: stems, branches, and flowers must be placed carefully while respecting growth constraints.
Easy to learn yet full of meaningful decisions, Pique Pousse offers an experience rich in strategy and chaos, where playing the right card at the right time can make all the difference. Despite its floral theme and adorable illustrations, gardening will not always be a relaxing activity, as countless twists and turns will constantly sow chaos among your plants! Never forget: everything that grows... can be snatched! So stay on your guard, or you may end up with nothing but a bed of withered flowers.
